In detail, what is your role at Think IT?

My official title is Chief Sales Officer. However, I have a diverse and varied role. I am responsible for business development and also manage our Waikato clients, working out of our Hamilton office one day a week. I also work for Think Robotics.

What is it that drives and encourages you within your work and personal life?

I like to know how things work and how I can use technology to improve peoples lives including my own. I am always busy and have many tasks on the go. I constantly try to find better ways to achieve what I am doing by using technology. I like gadgets.

Who, or what, was the biggest influence in your career today?

I think the opportunities I was given at Current Technologies (this was my first IT job) set me up and without that, I don't think I would be working in IT today. I was employed in the warehouse and I had only been there a few days when they asked if I would like to try and fix some broken computers, of course, due to my desire of needing to know how things worked I spent many hours trying things and that started me down the engineering pathway.

Whose biggest fan, are you?

I am a supporter of the NZ Warriors so I would have to say I am a big fan of The Mad Butcher. He is such a loyal and positive person. I read his book a few years back and finding out about where he came from and what he has managed to achieve was and still is quite inspiring. I really take my hat off to him. He never gives up and will do anything for anyone!

What accomplishment are you most proud of within your job role at Think IT?

As the longest standing staff member, I am very proud that I could be a part of starting Think IT. We have employed some great people that work very hard to allow our customers to do their jobs without worrying about their IT.

What technology most excites you?

Robotics and Automation. I think we are in exciting times as robots become part of our everyday lives. I don't think we should worry that they will replace us but we need to start to understand how we can work alongside them because they are coming.

What areas should business be focussing on when it comes to technology?

Robotics and Automation. I think ALL businesses need to start thinking about how they are able to use this technology in their businesses. If they don't do it their competitors will.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to attend live rugby league games and watching the Warriors win the odd game! I have had a season pass to their home games since 1995 -some say I'm mad but I say I'm loyal! My kids are also rowing for their schools so I spend a lot of time down at Lake Karapiro during the summer months.

If you could gain one super-human power, what would it be?

I would have to say time travel! It would be good to go forward and see what is coming but also go back in time and change somethings that have happened.
